You start a typical module by logging into a private discussion group. Once there, you watch a narrated content presentation, read the related articles, and review the Thrive Portfolio assignment. The Thrive Portfolio assignment includes a description of your task, a performance rubric for the deliverable, a worked example of the deliverable, and appropriate blank worksheets or templates in which to create your deliverable.

After completing the content presentation and readings, you post a brief reflection of your thoughts and feelings about how the ideas apply to your situation. You may also post questions you have about the module content and the Thrive Portfolio assignment. You also begin working on your Thrive Portfolio assignment.

Approximately two weeks after the start of the module, you participate in the first live webinar hosted by the facilitator. During this session, the facilitator may review key ideas, answer questions, and/or comment on drafts of Thrive Portfolio deliverables.

Approximately three weeks after the start of the module, Thrive Portfolio deliverables are due. You submit your deliverables to the discussion Group. The expectation is that you will review one of your peer’s deliverables and provide them constructive comments. Approximately four weeks after the start of the module, you participate in the second live webinar hosted by the facilitator. For this webinar, the facilitator has selected a few of the Thrive Portfolio deliverables for more in-depth critique, feedback, and discussion.

Prior to the start of the next module, you finalize your Thrive Portfolio deliverables and post them to your Google Drive account (preferred) or store them in a folder on your personal computer.

This learning experience sequence repeats in generally the same way for each module.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I start Thrive at any time during the year?
No. The next Thrive session starts in January, 2019.
What is the time commitment to the Thrive program?
Thrive requires at least 2 hours per week (8 hours per month) of your time.
Is there a graduation ceremony for Thrive?
Yes. A graduation ceremony is conducted at the spring HCF Conference.
What computing resources do I need to access the Thrive resources?
You need a personal computer with microphone (headset preferred), high-speed Internet connection, and a browser. You also need Adobe Acrobat (or Adobe Reader) and a word processing program that supports Microsoft Word .docx format and/or Google Docs.
How do I register for the course and learn about the terms and conditions?
See the Thrive Program registration form.
Can I make up an assignment if I miss the deadline?
Yes. Previous modules remain accessible to you, so you can always go back and make up assignments. However, the facilitator may not be able to provide you feedback on your assignment.
Will I receive direct feedback from the facilitator on all of my Thrive deliverables?
No. For each module, the facilitator reviews all the Thrive deliverables and selects a subset for deeper critique and feedback. The facilitator chooses Thrive deliverables for review that 1) reflect systematic bright spots or areas of improvement found in most of the deliverables, and 2) ensure each participant has at least one of their deliverables reviewed once.
How does Thrive help me become accepted into the HCF Platinum Program?
Success in the Platinum Program is dependent on two key factors:1) the consistency of your success mindset, and 2) the financial strength of your practice. Thrive is primarily aimed at refining your success mindset, but may also positively impact the financial strength of your practice. A solid Thrive Portfolio that demonstrates a success mindset may reduce the financial criteria required for Platinum acceptance.
About the Facilitator
Dr. Gilles LaMarche is a chiropractor, educator, passionate healer, accomplished author, professional speaker, and inspiring certified personal development/executive coach. He was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario, Canada. Dr. LaMarche found his calling as a healer when at the age of twelve he was taken to a chiropractor after years spent as an “unwell” child. His only expectation was that a chiropractor might help him resume regular activities without pain; little did he know that one meeting would change the course of his life and he would soon discover the science, art and philosophy of chiropractic which lead him to a vision for better health. This vision: to help the world discover the importance and value to taking personal responsibility for overall health and well-being naturally. Dr. LaMarche continues to live to this vision today some forty-plus years later.
